MapleMail is made by Joel & Nanz Inc., a small company in New Brunswick. Not a reseller, and not a brand on top of somebody else's platform.
The short version
MapleMail is built and operated by Joel Gathercole, founder of Joel & Nanz Inc. He ran his own bulletin board system in the 1990s and spent twenty years in enterprise IT, finishing as Director of IT at TriageLogic, where securing communications infrastructure was the job. He configures and monitors the mail servers himself.
Where your mail lives
On servers in Canada, operated by Joel & Nanz Inc., under Canadian law and PIPEDA. Not on rented space in a US datacentre with a Canadian label on it. Your mailboxes, your messages and your backups all stay in the country.
What we will not do with your email
We do not scan it to target advertising, and we do not sell your data. That is not a policy we could quietly change and hope you miss — it is the reason the product exists.
What we are not
We are not a large company, and we do not pretend to be. There is no tiered support desk and no account manager. If something is wrong with your mail, you are writing to the person who can fix it. For some buyers that is exactly right; if you need a 24/7 enterprise support contract, we are honest that we are not that.
